Easy-to-Follow Rules
OBJECTIVE:
Throw the ball through the center circle or hit the ring for points—while your opponent's try to cancel your score by catching it!
HOW TO PLAY:
Singles or Doubles: Play one-on-one or team up. In doubles, teammates stand on the same side and alternate throws.
Throwing the ball back and forth between game poles (33' apart). Alternate throwers between throw.
No Blocking the Target: Players must stay behind the pole until the ball hits or passes the circle.
Scoring Race: First to 11 points (win by 2) wins. Or opt for a longer game to 21.
SCORING:
3 Points – Ball goes through the center circle.
2 Points – Ball hits the outer ring of the circle.
0 Points – Ball hits the pole or misses (dead ball).
Catch Cancel – If the opposing team catches the ball after a potential scoring hit, no points are awarded.
1 Point – If a team drops a catchable ball (above the knees, within reach), the throwing team earns 1 point.
🔺 Note: You can only score the higher of the two outcomes per throw—maximum 3 or 2 points. Dropped catches don’t add extra.
GAME RULES:
Throwing Line: Your foot must stay behind the pole when throwing. Step over, and it’s a scratch—turnover to the other team.
Defense Rules: No defender can cross in front of the pole until after the ball contacts the ring or passes through.
Advanced Defense: Kicking the ball upward and catching it is legal—if you can pull it off!
